The Fine Print
All the finer details you
need to know, just in case a dispute ever arises, and lawyers are involved (which
we all hope is a highly unlikely event).
On: Our commissions/products
A contract will be drawn
up with the details of the commission/product work, with the price listed,
which will be agreed upon by you (the customer) and signed. This will be a
legally binding contract, so please make sure you understand the terms and
conditions. If in doubt, please refer to "The Fine Print" (the page you're
currently reading), or ask us.
We will not begin any
commission/product work until at least one third (1/3, 33%) to one half (1/2,
50%), depending on the cost and complexity, of the price as agreed upon in the
contract is fully paid up.
The initial payment (the
1/3 (33%) to 1/2 (50%)) is non-refundable should you change your mind. This will
be clearly pointed out in the contract that you've agreed to and signed.
The finished
commission/product will not be shipped out until the remaining balance have
been paid in full.
These policies are pretty
much the same with the majority of costume/mascoting studios/shops in this
field of work worldwide. Go on, search around if you think ours is different,
and let us know if that's the case.
On: Our workmanship
guarantee
We take pride in our work,
and strive to make sure our creations are of the highest quality. If you follow
our care instructions, or just common sense, the commission/product should last
you a long time.
But sometimes we might've
missed a seam here or a spot there, and before you panic, talk to us first
because in most cases, we'll fix it for you.
Here's what you need to
know:
We'll provide our product
with a 1 year workmanship guarantee.
What's covered:
Any areas on the
commission/product that we've obviously missed, or a missing feature that was
originally stated in the contract/agreement. For example, a missing/split seam
for the bodysuit of a mascot suit commission.
Minor wear and tear from
general use. For example, if a seam starts to weaken or become loose on the
bodysuit within the first year, we'll fix it for you free of charge (postage
and handling fees are not covered). However, if it's a major issue - i.e. the
unlikely event that the whole bodysuit starts to fall apart, then we'll discuss
with you first and try to reach a solution.
What's not covered:
Any modifications not done
by us on the commission/product. For example, adding an extra opening/zipper on
the bodysuit by yourself or another party.
Abuse or misuse of the
commission/product, such as:
-
Water damage, e.g. from spilling
your drink, to taking a trip to the beach or scuba diving
-
Fire damage, e.g. standing too
close to the BBQ or open bonfire
And so on. Please apply
some common sense here.
